There is something powerful about the moment a child opens a book for the first time. It shows in their curiosity, their excitement and the endless questions that follow.
That spirit filled the air on Friday, January 30, 2026, when the Learn To Read Foundation (LTRF), led by Rejoice Adzivor, visited Beginners Springboard Educational Centre in Kasoa to implement its Library Access Project — a day centred on stories, discovery and the joy of learning.
More Than a Donation
While the foundation presented the school with 500 storybooks, the visit went far beyond a simple donation.
Students participated in sectional competitions, tech-focused challenges and guided reading sessions designed to make learning interactive and enjoyable. Classrooms were alive with energy as pupils worked together, competed and celebrated each other’s efforts.
The aim was clear: to help children see reading not as a task, but as an exciting pathway to knowledge and opportunity.

A Platform for Young Talent
One of the highlights of the day was when the children took the spotlight to showcase their talents.
There were dance performances, cultural displays, poetry recitals and confident reading sessions. Each presentation reflected the creativity and confidence that can flourish when children are given the right encouragement and support.
It was a powerful reminder that literacy goes beyond the ability to read and write — it builds self-expression, imagination and self-belief.
Hearing from Students and Teachers
LTRF also created space to listen to the people who matter most — the students and their teachers.
Many pupils spoke about how the activities made reading feel fun and accessible. Teachers, on the other hand, shared their excitement about the renewed interest in books and the positive impact the new resources would have on learning in the classroom.
Though their perspectives differed, the message was the same: the project made a meaningful difference.

Collaboration for Impact
The success of the event was made possible through the strong partnership between LTRF and the leadership and staff of Beginners Springboard Educational Centre. Their commitment to education created a welcoming environment for the initiative to thrive.
Under the guidance of Rejoice Adzivor, the Learn To Read Foundation continues to work with schools and communities to improve access to literacy and learning resources for children.
A Lasting Legacy
The 500 storybooks donated are now part of daily school life in Kasoa — being opened, explored and shared among pupils. Even after the event ended, its impact lives on in every story read and every imagination sparked.
Because when children are given access to books, they gain more than knowledge.
They gain the confidence to dream.
And for many of them, this is just the beginning.
