Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has issued a response to a disciplinary summons from the party.
He expressed his readiness to appear before the party’s National Disciplinary Committee and demanded that the proceedings be broadcast live.
The following confirmation by the NPP that its General Secretary, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, had formally petitioned the Committee over what he described as a series of alleged misconduct by Abronye.
This, according to the party’s chief scribe, included public insults and unsubstantiated allegations deemed damaging to the party’s unity and reputation.
In the petition, Mr. Kodua Frimpong cited multiple actions by the Bono Regional Chairman which he described as “unbecoming of a member” and “gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation.”
The petition accused Abronye DC of making derogatory remarks against Kennedy Agyapong, including a claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.”
He is further alleged to have claimed that the party’s General Secretary concealed a report recommending the expulsion of Mr. Agyapong, accusations the party described as “false, malicious, and injurious.”
Again, the petition accused Abronye of disclosing and distorting the contents of a disciplinary committee report, breaching confidentiality and undermining the authority of the committee.
Accordingly, the arty is requesting its Disciplinary Committee to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into Abronye’s conduct and apply appropriate sanctions in line with the party’s constitution.
This, according to the petition, will ensure that accountability within the NPP is “non-negotiable,” as it is critical to safeguarding the party’s unity, integrity, and credibility.
“The leadership remains committed to fairness, discipline, and the protection of the Party’s democratic values,” the petition stressed.
Abronye’s response
Responding swiftly in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Abronye acknowledged receipt of the party’s communiqué and said he was fully prepared to honour the summons.
Accepting the challenge, the Bono Regional Chairman went further to accuse Kennedy Agyapong, a senior figure within the NPP, of actions he claimed have been detrimental to the cohesion of the party.
“My attention has been drawn to a social media communiqué issued by our great Party and duly signed by the General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua, inviting me to appear before the Party’s National Disciplinary Committee.
“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the anti-Christ actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, which has undermined the cohesion and integrity of our Party.
“Since the referral was made public, I therefore propose that the sittings of the Committee be conducted openly and broadcast live, so that the rank and file of our noble Party may have the opportunity to witness, at first hand, the manifest anti-Christ posture and conduct of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” Abronye DC demanded in his statement.
