Ghana’s first female Chief of staff Mrs Akosua Frema Osei-Opare has urged Ghanaians to vote massively for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the December general election to ensure he completes the laudable work he is doing for the nation.
The President, she said, has demonstrated his very caring personality and shown the betterment of Ghana and the Ghanaian people has been his major concern.
Ghanaians, she said, should therefore not abandon the good leader they have in President Akufo-Addo in search of another that may turn out very bad.
Mrs Opare-Osei spoke to the media after she registered for her voters’ card at a polling centre in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
She argued while others implement policies in bits President Akufo-Addo ensured implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) was done across the entire country and for all children qualified to attend secondary school.
“Akufo-Addo did not select only a few to benefit from this programme because he believes if it is free for one group of Ghanaians then it should be free for all Ghanaians.”
“This is how President Akufo-Addo planned the Free SHS just like the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO).”
According to her, the government did not implement the NABCO only in NPP strongholds but ensured every district in the county has a branch for graduates without employment to be offered jobs and training to earn a living.
“This is how caring Akufo-Addo is; a very caring person who ensures when he eats everybody also eats too.”
Speaking on the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and the initiatives implemented by the Akufo-Addo government to ease the burden of the disease on Ghanaians, Mrs Osei-Opare noted that the effect of the virus is evidence in many developed countries.
According to her, the US economy has shrunk by 32% while the unemployment rate has shot through the roof causing a major upheaval in the country.
In Ghana, she explained that President Akufo-Addo moved to ensure the effects of the virus on people does not become catastrophic and therefore ensured Ghanaians are served with potable water free of charge.
“Look at the good policies that he formulated and implemented to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease.”
“Electricity has also been made free for lifeline consumers with over one million households benefitting from this laudable initiative,” she said.
The Chief of Staff stated that the President also provided incentives for health workers at the frontline of the covid-19 battle by exempting them from the payment of tax and also gave them allowance of 50% of their basic salary.
“The government also gave insurance policy to all the health workers in case the unfortunate happens so that their families would be well taken care of.”
“This is testimony that Akufo-Addo is a caring person and believes the resources of the state should be used wisely so the entire Ghanaian population would benefit from it.”
“Ayawaso West Wuogon constituents can testify to the work of the president because your roads have been fixed for you. That is why Lydia’s opponent is upset because he knows Ghanaians would not abandon such a good thing and vote for something else.”
Mrs Osei-Opare noted that what she has seen and heard and what witnesses have testified is enough testimony for Ghanaians to vote for President Akufo-Addo for another four years.
