The Majority Chief Whip who is also Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh has been honoured with the 2021 Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Award as the “Most Impactful” Member of Parliament (MP).
It is the 5th Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Award and the Member of the Pan African Parliament was also given a Certificate of Induction into Hall of Fame for his passion for education, youth empowerment and overall commitment to contributing his quota towards the welfare of people in society.
The award ceremony, which was organized by Ghana-Nigeria Achievers Award Foundation on the theme: Celebrating Impact and Humanitarian Effort”, brought together Ghanaians and Nigerian Citizens to share ideas, interact, and get honoured for their great works.
Other recipients of the award included the National Chief Imam Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu, Minister for Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif and some prominent Ghanaian and Nigerian actors.
A plaque presented to Mr Annoh-Dompreh read, “For your hard work, passion for humanity, effort in supporting the quality education of your constituents, determination, to support the President deliver dividends of democracy to Ghanaians and Great love for People”.
It would be recalled that Majority Chief Whip was recently honoured by the management of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat following his efforts in the decentralization of scholarships in the country.
Again, the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) honoured him with a citation for his immense support to students and promotion of education in his constituency.
Mr Annoh-Dompreh has been organizing classes for BECE candidates, facilitating access to scholarships both local and foreign to students, and recently distributed about 200 scientific calculators to students as well as helping to build a school library in the constituency.
The Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency/municipal assembly of the Majority Chief Whip was ranked as the best performing Municipality in the Eastern Region during the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
A total of 247 candidates obtained aggregate six in the Eastern region, comprising 110 boys and 137 girls.
Out of the number, 178 candidates were from Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
About Annoh-Dompreh
Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh is a Consultant and holds MSc Degree in Climate Change (Sustainable Development), MSc Environmental Policy, LLB (Law).
He graduated from the University of Cape Coast with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
The Majority Chief Whip also studied at Mountcrest University where he obtained LLB and LLM degrees.
Mr Annoh-Dompreh entered politics as a student when he was elected in a competitive contest as president of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) in 2000 whilst a student of the University of Cape Coast.
He was also elected as the Eastern Regional Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In 2012, Mr Annoh-Dompreh contested in the Nsawam/Adoagyiri NPP Parliamentary primaries against Seth Wiafe Danquah and was given the nod by delegates in the constituency to represent them in the 2012 parliamentary election with 366 out of the 482 valid votes cast.
He proceeded to win the seat against Ben Ohene-Ayeh of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the general election.
Mr Annoh-Dompreh retained his seat in the 2016 and 2020 elections.
