A Court of Appeal Judge, Justice George Kingsley Koomson is chairing a three-member committee to probe the disturbances that led to the killing of two persons after the murder of a social media activist Ibrahim Mohammed aka ‘Kaaka’ in Ejura in the Ashanti region.
Other members of the committee include Security Analyst Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso and the Executive Director of Penplusbytes, Juliet Amoah with Marie Louise Simmons, a principal State Attorney serving as secretary to the committee.
“These individuals are trusted members of society, and we believe that we will meet the deadline given by the President and come out with the appropriate report and recommendations,” Minister for the Interior Mr Ambrose Dery announced the members of the committee when he visited Ejura yesterday.
The Interior Minister said this following a directive given him by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to conduct a public enquiry into the Ejura disturbances.
He said the committee will independently probe the happenings in Ejura and in 10 days make their findings known.
“In line with the President’s directive, I have set up a three-member ministerial committee to conduct a public enquiry into the unfortunate occurrences on Tuesday, June 29, 2021”, he added.
