The Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) programme who doubles as the 2020 parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party in the Tamale Central Constituency, Dr Ibrahim Anyars Imoro has continued his humanitarian gestures by donating fifty hand washing facilities and about one thousand liquid soaps to elected assembly members in the eighteen electoral areas in his constituency.

Tamale central NPP constituency executives at a short ceremony today Sunday, 12 April, 2020, handed over veronica buckets with large size containers of liquid soaps on behalf of Dr Ibrahim Anyars to the assembly members for further distribution to all public toilets in the central business district of the metropolis.

The intervention follows a similar donation the MP hopeful made to public institutions including Television and Radio stations, hospitals and other vantage spots in the northern regional capital as his personal support in the fight against the dreadful novel coronavirus in the region.

The Assemblyman for the Changli electoral area, Iddrisu Ibrahim in an interview with thecustodianghonline.com described the intervention as a very thoughtful idea by Dr Anyars.

He argued conditions at these places of convenience are unhygienic and because people frequently visit the facilities, it could be a medium for the spread of the virus in the communities.

According to him, Dr Anyars Ibrahim has set the pace for other politicians in the Tamale central constituency.

He added: “We have witnessed other individuals and parliamentary candidates donating these items but none of them have considered supporting these facilities but all manner filthy and human excretes are there which is not good for public health, so for Dr Barihama Anyars to  think through it, we can only thank him.”

He stated the donation is timely and believes this will help to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic disease in the constituency.

“I will liaise with my unit committee to monitor how the caretakers will manage these hand washing buckets; we will ensure there is always water and soap for people to use when they visit the toilet” he assured.

Assemblyman for the Assemblies of God electoral area, Mohammed Dawuda for his part also promised to frequently provide water and soap to all toilet facilities in his electoral area to ensure the items serve the purpose for which they have been given to the communities.

Meanwhile, the NPP Constituency Secretary, Mr Musah Mutawakilu Sankundaa urged residents of Tamale to take precautionary by following the hand washing and personal hygiene guidelines advised by health experts.

He emphasized hand washing is a primary antidote to combating the global crisis.

He further commended the party’s parliamentary candidate for his continuous support to control the spread of the infections at the community level.
