Former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), Dr Edwin Provencal, has been released after meeting his GH¢30 million bail condition.
Dr Provencal has been in the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for more than two weeks due to draconian bail terms.
The former BOST Managing Director was arrested at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Monday, November 10, when he was about to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique.
EOCO claimed he had been placed on a stop list as part of ongoing investigations into an alleged case of causing financial loss to the state during his tenure at BOST.
Dr Provencal’s arrest triggered significant public interest, with supporters expressing concerns over the prolonged detention.
Speaking after his release on Tuesday, November 25, his legal counsel, Charles Okyere, expressed gratitude to all who had shown solidarity throughout the period.
“Finally, he has met the bail condition, so he has been allowed to go home. He is really thankful for the support.”
