The Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) was transformed into a sanctuary of praise and high-level diplomacy on January 25, 2026, as the First Sky Group held its 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Service.
This was under the theme anchored in the Bible scripture Psalm 71:15-16: ‘Proclaiming the mighty deeds of the Lord’.
The event, which saw an overflowing auditorium, served as both a spiritual milestone and a powerful declaration of the company’s commitment to Ghana’s national development.
In attendance was H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, alongside former Speaker of Parliament Doe Adjaho, Ministers of State Hon. Governs Agbodza, Deputy Attorney-General Srem Sai, and a host of traditional leaders.
The atmosphere was as “electric,” anchored by the spiritual leadership of Apostle General Sam Korankyi-Ankrah, who chaired the event, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana – Rev. Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, and many othe prominent men of God.
Addressing the massive gathering of staff, dignitaries, and clergy, the Founder and Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Mr. Eric Sessy Kutortse, delivered a moving address that pivoted away from corporate vanity toward divine gratitude.
“We are gathered here today not because First Sky has bagged another year, but rather because our journey as a company has reached a moment of reflection,” Mr. Kutortse stated.
“Through seasons of uncertainty and risk-taking, it has been the hands of God that ordered our steps. What we are celebrating today is not a mere product of human efforts.”

The “Big Push” and Green Energy
A significant highlight of the address was the formal acknowledgement of the partnership between the private sector and the government.
Mr. Kutortse expressed deep appreciation for President Mahama’s “Big Push” initiative, noting that First Sky Group has been entrusted as a partner based on its proven capacity and competency.
The company’s impact on the Ghanaian economy is measurable and growing:
-Employment: Over 6,000 people currently employed across the country.
-Energy Sovereignty: Through First Sky Energies Limited, the group is constructing a 50-megawatt EV power station in the Northern Region. This fully Ghanaian-owned project is set to be the second-largest solar installation in the country.
-Skill Transfer: Mr. Kutortse emphasized that these projects are not just about infrastructure, but about transferring critical skills to the Ghanaian workforce.
Philanthropy and Faith
First Sky Group’s legacy is perhaps most visible in its social interventions. The Chairman detailed a staggering record of corporate social responsibility that bridges the gap between the physical and spiritual needs of the populace.

In Healthcare, over the last 8 years, 51 Million GHS spent on free dialysis at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. 6 kidney transplants fully funded in 2025. This includes regular funding for medical training at the Korle Bu Renal Clinic.
Over 111 churches already built across Ghana. Yet 50 new churches and 50 mission houses are under construction for the Assemblies of God by the end of 2026.
With the introduction of the “Mahama Care” initiative which now covers dialysis care; Mr. Kutortse announced that the Group would pivot its health funding to focus on more complex interventions and transplant support moving forward.
A Moment of Consecration
The service reached a spiritual high when prayers were offered for Mr. Kutortse and his wife, the entire First Sky Group staff, and President John Dramani Mahama. The sight of the nation’s leader joined in prayer with the clergy and the business community was described by attendees as a “beautiful and unifying moment” for the country.
As the 23rd Thanksgiving concluded, the message was clear: First Sky Group does not aim to be the largest company in Ghana by accident, but to be the most “useful” to God and humanity.
