UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou is confident in his ability to score a knockout win over WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Last month, the Cameroonian was ringside for Fury’s knockout of mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in London.
After the fight, Ngannou entered the ring and took part in a side by side interview with Fury – with both fighters expressing their desire to have a boxing match with hybrid rules.
Fury would be a tremendous favorite in such a fight, but Ngannou is not paying attention to the odds.
“I think I can take everybody. Even the fact that I’m here, we are discussing about it, something will make sense. It’s just the proof that I can make it. He’s a great boxer. One of the best to ever do it. Personally, I think he’s a show guy,” Ngannou told LadBible.
“He’s a good show guy. He likes to have fun. He’s cool. And what I love about him, he’s a free man. He speaks free. He lives free. He’s not caged. And I like that attitude. Ten years ago, I wasn’t in the picture. Not even in the corner, like a dot. So I have my own chance. Obviously, it’s not my comfort zone. I know that he’s an expert in that discipline, but man, don’t never count me out.”
Ngannou is currently in talks with UFC on a new agreement, but a boxing match Fury would have to be a part of that structure.
“It has to be part of the discussion because if that’s not part of the discussion, it will never be. If I sign another contract now, basically the same model of the contract, I’m screwed. That’s not happening ever. So we have to figure out a way to implement this into a contract,” Ngannou said.
Francis Zavier Ngannou is a Cameroonian mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the heavyweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where he is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion. He is known for being the hardest recorded puncher in the world.
