Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Ghana’s Minister of Finance, unveiled the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Thursday, presenting key measures to drive economic recovery and stabilise public finances.
On behalf of President John Dramani Mahama’s government, Dr Forson highlighted that the 2026 budget underscores the administration’s commitment to restoring stability, protecting citizens’ livelihoods, and fostering inclusive growth.
Themed “Resetting for Growth, Jobs, and Economic Transformation,” the budget prioritises economic stability, job creation, and support for SMEs.
The Minister outlined plans to continue targeted fiscal strategies aimed at boosting production, stimulating investment, and optimising public spending.
Projected revenue growth is expected to be steady, aided by improved tax compliance, the digitalisation of tax systems, and careful expenditure management, all to contain the fiscal deficit.
