Supporters of Alhaji Mumin Salifu COP also known Jack Sparrow, a contender for the New Patriotic Party Youth Organizer portfolio has accused the incumbent Youth Organizer, Mohammed Alhassan popularly known Ghana Alhassan of engaging diabolic tactics to court the sympathy of delegates in the upcoming NPP Northern Regional Delegates Conference later this month.

The group condemned in no uncertain terms the act of some faceless individuals defacing and destroying of posters and banners of the incumbent Youth Organizer in Tamale, stating emphatically this is antiparty behavior, immoral and insubordination.

“We’re on a manhunt for those who are carrying out this wicked act, because, we know how expensive it is to print posters and banners. But, when apprehended, we’ll make an example out of them by allowing the laws of the country to deal with them appropriately.”

Issahaku Abdul Hanan, spokesperson of the group however said at a news confab on Sunday (May 8, 2022) that, “On the other, it might be a deliberate attempt by the incumbent regional youth organizer to seek sympathy from the delegates because all indications have shown that he has lost the election already with his incompetence”.

He added, “We’re sending a word of caution to him that, if he is the mastermind behind this outmoded type of politicking to court sympathy from the disgruntled youth and delegates, then his agenda has failed and dead on arriving.”

Abdul Hanan disclosed a giant billboard of Alhaji Mumin COP has severally been destroyed too around the Agric traffic light area along the Tamale-Savelugu highway but indicated this will not deter the team from campaigning on the failed stewardship of the incumbent to man the affairs of the youth in the region.

“We’re poised to build a formidable youth front with Alhaji Mumin Salifu COP aka Jack Sparrow, the Northern Regional Youth Organizer Hopeful to help break the 8 and no amount of distraction can sway us away from the JACK SPARROW ALL INVOLVED AGENDA neither do we have time to soil our hands. He [Ghana Alhassan] shouldn’t have even made an attempt to run for a second term looking at how he has performed abysmally” the spokesperson intimated.

According to him, the impending contest is about vision and competence that can change the fortunes of the NPP in the northern region but in his view “imaginary” expensive phones, shoes, chains or wrest watches.

The NPP Youth Organizer last week posted on Facebook the unfortunate incidents of unscrupulous people defacing and destroying his campaign posters and banners in many parts of the regional capital.

“My attention has been drawn to the serial destruction of my posters around town. I am very surprised at these unfortunate happenings at this time of the contest. We’re not accusing any of our opponents as being the masterminds behind it but Allah knows those doing such uncivilized acts and we can’t contemplate anyone doing that in the month of Ramadan”.

He continued, “Though posters and banners do not entirely win elections, they contribute significantly to the process of winning by giving candidates publicity, so let’s concentrate on our campaigns and desist from acts of destroying my banners and posters.”

Meanwhile, THE CUSTODIAN has sighted various circulars social media from the quarters of the Youth Organizer aspirants disassociating themselves from such impunity and condemning same.
