President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe has arrived in Accra for a three-day state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with Ghana.
He was received at the Jubilee Lounge of the Accra International Airport by his host, President John Dramani Mahama. Upon arrival, President Mnangagwa was accorded a ceremonial 21-gun salute and inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces.
Senior government officials and members of the diplomatic corps were also present to welcome the Zimbabwean leader. The two presidents later held a brief closed-door meeting at the Jubilee Lounge.
According to a government statement, President Mahama is expected to host a state banquet in honour of President Mnangagwa. The visit will feature high-level bilateral engagements, including a tête-à-tête and expanded delegation talks focused on deepening cooperation in trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, sanitation, and joint efforts to address corruption and unemployment.
The leaders are also expected to witness the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding to advance shared priorities.
As part of his itinerary, President Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, and pay homage at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
The visit underscores the deep-rooted ties between Ghana and Zimbabwe and reaffirms a shared commitment to advancing a strategic partnership for sustainable development.
