The Presiding Bishop of Victory Bible Churches International (VBCI), Rt. Rev. N.A. Tackie-Yarboi has declared that Ghana will not burn, contrary to the prediction of some ‘prophets’ in the country.

He proclaimed that God would help the country and its government by raising strong leaders who would work to solve the country’s challenges.

Preaching to his congregation on the topic, “Thy Will be done on Earth” at the 40th anniversary thanksgiving service held at the Black Star Square on Sunday, 2 November 2025, Bishop Tackie-Yarboi cautioned prophets in the country who have made it their stock-in-trade to predict doom about the nation.

He urged the prophets of the nation to use their ministries to edify and not to put down.

Quoting his anchor text from the book of Mathew 6:10, which reads, “Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,” Bishop Tackie-Yarboi said, pointing out there are no problems in heaven, but there are problems on earth.

Jesus, he said, came so that the earth would be like heaven, where there are no longer problems.

Bishop Tackie-Yarboi indicated that the Church of Jesus Christ exists to solve the problems on the earth.

The Church, he said, is the salt of the earth, and so it must change the earth and not hurt it.

“Anytime the earth is facing problems, the church must rise and solve the problems.

“I am not opposed to the prophetic; I like it, but it should serve as a problem-solving tool. The Bible tells us that prophecies come to exalt, edify, and give us direction. What we hear every day from some of our prophets is “you will die,” and “Ghana is burning,” Bishop Tackie-Yarboi preached.

“Ghana will not burn; God will help us. Even Nineveh, God sent a prophet there, and if they repented, God promised to save the land. Even Sodom and Gomorrah, God said He could not go there without telling Abraham, and Abraham interceded for them; however, his intercession was not enough.

“Let us stop lambasting ourselves and let us turn this earth to the answer of Jesus, which is ‘thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. There is no problem in heaven; may we bring heaven down to the earth,” Bishop Tackie-Yarboi further preached.

Unique Focus

Special Guest of Honour, Mr Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, in his address, noted that he has great respect for Victory Church International and its leadership. He pointed out that he was blessed to have worshiped with the church at its 40th anniversary celebration.

Mr Debrah observed that the church has a unique focus, which is to equip and grow its members not only spiritually, but also to groom and empower them to become entrepreneurs and business owners who are involved in policy initiatives and socio-economic development of the nation.

“If you belong to a church that has a leader who is thinking this way, you must count yourself very blessed. When the President spoke about resetting, among many other things, what he meant was that it is about time for us to take a second look at the way we do things.

“I would like to, on behalf of the President and the government, assure you that we are committed to partnering with you in achieving this noble objective that you have set for your church,” the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Julius Debrah, remarked.

“I will encourage you, if you don’t already have it, to create what we call the business development desk, headed by one of your pastors. This way, we can look amongst the members and identify those with an entrepreneurial spirit so that you can guide them. And anytime the need for support arises, we will be at the Jubilee House to lend a hand,” the Chief of Staff further remarked.

Empowerment

The Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, who attended the service on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, in his speech, commended Bishop N.A. Tackie-Yarboi and his College of Bishops for 40 years of dedicated service to the VBCI family and, by extension, the Nation.

“Under the anointed leadership of Bishop Tackie-Yarboi, Victory Bible Church International has indeed raised the foundations of many generations. You have not only preached the gospel, but you have also built lives, strengthened families, mentored leaders, and empowered communities across Ghana and beyond,” Afriyie-Ankrah said.

The Church

Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) is a dynamic, Bible-based, vibrant, Christ-centered Church headquartered in Accra, Ghana. Established in June 1985, the Church is founded on biblical principles and aims to spread the message of hope, love, and redemption through Jesus Christ.

Its mandate is “Raising the Foundations of Many Generations,” anchored on the verse of scripture in Isaiah chapter 58, verse 12, which states;

“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.”

Milestone

VBCI celebrated its 40th anniversary on June 2, 2025.

Its maiden service was held on June 2, 1985, at Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra. Over the past 40 years, it has expanded to more than ten countries in four continents (Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe).

The Church currently has over 175 branches in Ghana alone, and its administrative office employs more than 70 permanent staff members and several hundred lay ministers, who are non-permanent and non-paid staff.

The Leader

Bishop Nii Nabi Ni Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi, an esteemed clergyman, author, and Bible teacher whose Ministry spans over four decades, is the Founder and Presiding Bishop of Victory Bible Church International, a worldwide ministry.

He established the Victory Bible Church in Accra on June 2, 1985, which later changed its name to Victory Christian Center and then to Victory Bible Church International.

Today, VBCI reaches millions in Ghana and around the world, including Asia, the Americas, and Europe. He also oversees hundreds of churches within and outside Ghana.

The Commission

As a commission, Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) is committed to equipping our members to be rooted and grounded in God’s Word, so that they will not be deceived but will become true disciples of Jesus who can also raise other firm believers.

Our overarching objective is to empower believers to become Disciples of Jesus Christ, fostering spiritual growth, community service, and evangelism.

We envision a transformed Ghana and beyond through strong generations of dedicated and obedient Christian families, where the gospel impacts individuals, families, and communities, and they live out their faith in practical ways.

The goal is to convert people to Christ Jesus, mature them to express God in human form, equip them for church ministry, and fulfill their God-given mission in the world.

This purpose is revealed in the following five (5) Tasks.

The Ministry has over 30 consecrated Bishops globally, who preside over the churches’ 38 global provinces.

A province is a sector with several Sanctuaries (branches) under its administrative and spiritual oversight. In all, VBCI has 250 local branches known as Sanctuaries.
