The Gushegu Member of Parliament, Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli has supported about two hundred and thirty-eight (238) brilliant but needy students in his constituency with a total amount of two hundred and sixteen thousand, seven hundred cedis (216, 700 cedis) to pursue various undergraduate and first degree programs.
The beneficiaries include 61 Teaching students, 35 Nursing students, 4 Law students, 2 Medical students, 3 Engineering students, 18 Agricultural and Vetenary students. Additional 115 individuals also received financial support to undertake various non Professional courses as well.
The MP, after disbursing the cash amounts to the students at a short ceremony on Monday (August 18, 2025) urged them to take their studies seriously and come out with flying colors at the end of their studies.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Legislator believe that education holds the key to unlocking the fullest potential of the youth.

”I was particularly excited about the number of female students this year and it’s my expectation that in the next two or three years the females will overtake the males in terms of the number of tertiary students. Hearty congratulations to my gallant students as you march forward to greatness!”
The former Deputy Transport Minister in his remarks further admonished the students to justify their inclusion by working hard to open the opportunity for people to benefit.
He noted the objective of the program is to educate more young and prospective future leaders from the Gushegu constituency as part measures to improve the livelihood of families and mitigate the development gaps in the area.
”All what I’m doing is to support you so that, God willing, when you excel in life, you don’t forget your siblings and those behind you.”
Mr. Tampuli also seized the medium to spell out the criteria for the selection, stating that the basic requirement is be a native and registered voter in the constituency. He clarified the rationale behind this is to ensure that people develop keen interest in the decision-making process in Gushegu and the nation as a whole.
However, he indicated the selection requirements does not include the political backgrounds of applicants.
