Ghana’s Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were involved in a road traffic accident in the early hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The accident occurred on the Bolgatanga–Tumu road as the ministers and members of their convoy were travelling to the Upper West Region.
They were scheduled to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education, an event expected to draw education stakeholders, traditional authorities and government officials.
Initial information from officials indicates that both ministers are in stable condition. Other members of the convoy also received medical attention following the incident, and authorities have confirmed that no life-threatening injuries have been reported.
