The Tamale Teaching Hospital has presented a citation in honor of Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli, the Member of Parliament for Gushegu constituency in the northern region. This is to appreciate the generous contribution of the lawmaker towards the renovation and refurbishment of the old Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) block at the major referral facility in the north.
The citation reads: “This recognition is made to you in appreciation of your generous contribution towards the renovation and refurbishment of the old O & G Block in TTH, to be used for primary health care provision (Polyclinic).
“By this citation, the Board, Management and Staff of TTH hereby express our heartfelt gratitude to you. We wish you progress and success in your future philanthropic endeavours”.
The TTH management made the presentation on Wednesday (March 16, 2022) during its 2021 Annual Performance Review meeting held in Tamale.
Mr. Iddrisu Mohammed, Personal Assistant of the Gushegu legislator, received the citation on his behalf.
The Deputy Minister for Transport in his remarks thanked the management of the Tamale Teaching Hospital for the recognition.
Nonetheless, Mr Tampuli, indicated he is always inspire by the historic words of President John F. Kennedy of the United States, which are that, “Ask not, what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country”, arguing this message challenged every American to contribute in various ways to the public good.
The Ghanaian populace, he added, has even a bigger obligation to do this today and therefore, urged the citizenry to hold each other and move side by side to the promise land.
Successive governments he said have done their part to equip and upgrade the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Notwithstanding this, the Deputy Transport Minister believes a lot still has to be done and maintained this has to be a shared responsibility, “because any of us can be a patient the next minute and be admitted here”.
