Happy Birthday in Heaven, Honorable Muniru Limuna
Former Minister of Agriculture & Deputy National Security Coordinator
You were never one for social media, so on your birthdays, I would simply call you and follow with a WhatsApp status, one you always viewed with joy and appreciation.
But today, your birthday feels painfully different. I am sleepless, overwhelmed with sadness, struggling to find words for you. The ache is deep.
So many years ago, when I was just a struggling girl with nothing but dreams and potential, you believed in me. You supported me in your own quiet way and always said,
“Just trust me and pray for me. Life is not easy with us in opposition, but if we come to power and I stand on my feet, I’ll help you.”
Even then, you gave me food orders, made sure I served your home and guests, and your stops at my eatery gave me hope and a sense of fulfillment.
Before Cookathon by Faila, I struggled financially to meet the demands of the Guinness World Record attempt. You sent me what you could through Momo to help with preparations. You didn’t just express how proud you were, you proved it. You flew to Tamale on the last day to honor me.
Just last week, I posted you on my WhatsApp, celebrating you with pride as one of my living helper. Was that your spiritual goodbye?
I’m sorry your life had to end this way, in pain, despite the good man you were. Not even those of us who benefited from your kindness could do anything.
Maybe you should’ve listened to the song I composed for you back in 2016, just once more, to remind yourself of how charismatic and special you are.
All the days of my life, I will not only pray for you, I will honor your name in every charitable gesture I make.
Rest in peace, my Helper, my Hero.
Your legacy lives on.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Hon. Muniru Limuna.
Signed…
