Hon. Rev. Kweku Addo is a first time parliamentarian in Ghana when he defeated Ursula Owusu in the recent general elections on his third attempt.
Rev. Kweku Addo made the reassuring commitment to his constituents at a recent community forum held at Agege Mamponse which was organised by the Assemblyman of the area, Mr. Daniel Nii Armah Tagoe.
His statement came as a response to questions directed at him regarding rising abuse of drugs, the poor state of roads, and issues surrounding sanitation during which constituents asked for commitment action rather than political talk.
“Now when you look at all our road network in Dansoman, it’s very deplorable. Eventually it will be done, but I can’t say tomorrow it will be done. I live in Dansoman and I drive on it”
“The issue with the temporary fix is that you grade it, you don’t do anything; it rains and it gets worse. So we hope and pray that as soon as there is funds we will be able to come and start fixing them”
The Member of Parliament went on to touch on issues about substance abuse;
“Substance abuse is a major problem but for that one we are all our brother’s keeper. If your child abuses drugs and you shield them, there will be consequences which will be on you.”

The Minister of the gospel in a separate interview added that: “Since I got into this mainstream politics it’s one thing I have learnt that never do to promise. You have been called to serve the needs of the people. The needs of the people is your job. So you have to deliver. And we work in a system where if you make promises you may fail.
“And spiritually, that’s why the bible says that if you make a promise and you don’t fulfill it you would have better hang a stone around your neck and put yourself in the sea. Because other forces also fight promises”
“I believe we want a better community so we will do what is right. And I am impressed the homeowners have come together to find a solution. We are here to be part of the solution, and we hope this will be done constantly and they keep impressing on us to do what is right”.
