The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ablekuma Central Constituency, Mr. Jefferson Sackey, has activated an ambitious campaign to fast-track development within the constituency.
In a move that highlights his commitment to addressing the pressing needs of the community, Mr. Sackey has made significant strides in tackling the long-standing water crisis that has plagued some areas within the constituency.
Mr. Sackey introduced the “Jefferson Care Water for All Project,” an initiative designed to ensure that every resident of Ablekuma Central has access to clean and reliable water. This project, a brainchild of Mr. Sackey and funded by his NGO, Jefferson Care, aims to provide sustainable water solutions to communities within Ablekuma Central that have struggled with water scarcity for years.
Within just one week of the project’s commencement, five mechanized boreholes have been drilled across the constituency in various communities, including Mataheko, Adwenbu, Russia, Shukura, and Nkrumah Flats.
The realization of the project was as a result of appeal by various residents in these communities during Mr. Sackey’s recent house to house listening tour to these communities.
Speaking on the projects, Mr. Sackey emphasized its importance in improving the quality of life for his constituents.
“Water is a basic necessity, and it is unacceptable that in this day and age, communities still struggle to get regular flow of water. Through the Jefferson Care Water for All Project, we are not only addressing this critical issue but also laying the foundation for further developments within our communities,” he stated.
The project has been met with overwhelming support and gratitude from the beneficiaries.
Residents, who have long endured the challenges of water scarcity, expressed their relief and appreciation for the timely intervention.
A resident of Shukura, Mohammed Amin, expressed his appreciation, stating that, “this borehole is a blessing to us, and we are grateful to Mr. Sackey for his efforts. It will go a long way to serve our water needs when we face the usual irregular supply of water.”
Mr. Sackey’s initiative goes beyond just providing water.
The Jefferson Care Water for All Project is part of a broader agenda by Mr. Sackey to uplift the standard of living in Ablekuma Central.
He has also implemented projects to address other critical areas such as education, healthcare, and sanitation, with the goal of making the constituency a model of sustainable development.
