President John Mahama has appointed Mr. Mohammed Abdul Salam, the Northern Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as the new Director General of the National Lottery Authority.

This comes few days after the formal resignation of Hon Sammi Awuku, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Akuapem North constituency in the Eastern Region.

The latter formally submitted his resignation letter on January 13, 2025, to the presidency citing his election as a lawmaker as the reason for his decision.

Consequent to that, the President has accordingly appointed Mohammed Abdul Salam as a successor to the former NPP National Organizer.

The new NLA Boss is currently working as a senior monitoring and evaluation officer at the Northern regional office of the National Health Insurance Authority in Tamale.
