The Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong has congratulated President John Mahama on his election and pledged the company’s support to the new government.
Speaking at the 2025 Jospong Leadership Conference, Dr. Siaw expressed his optimism about President Mahama’s leadership, stating that he brings hope and ideas to the table.
Dr. Siaw emphasized the Jospong Group’s commitment to partnering with the government to create jobs for the youth and support the green economy.
He also expressed the company’s support for President Mahama’s 24-hour economy vision, which aims to transform Ghana’s economy and improve the lives of its citizens.
“We will work with the government through partnership to create jobs for the youth and support the green economy. We have also branded our trucks to reflect the 24-hour economy initiative,” he noted.
The Executive Chairman challenged the staff that real transformation comes from within, adding that transformational leaders engage with influence and pay attention to the needs of their follower.
The Jospong Group has already made significant strides in supporting Ghana’s development. In 2024, the company launched the District Road Improvement (DRIP) programme in partnership with the government and sponsored 30 staff to study ecology and 80 postgraduate agricultural students in Russia. The company plans to sponsor 120 more students to study in Russia in 2025.
The African Agribusiness Consortium, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group, has also achieved remarkable success in rice cultivation, harvesting over 5,000 bags of rice from 40 acres of land.
Dr. Siaw also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to former President Nana Akufu Addo and the previous administration for their support to the Jospong Group.
On his part, Professor Ebo Hinson, a distinguished expert in marketing, delivered a thought-provoking address on the topic of “Ethical Leadership and Organisational Responsibility” at the 2025 Jospong Leadership Conference.
During his presentation, Professor Hinson identified eight essential characteristics of ethical leaders, emphasizing that such leaders must possess the following qualities: honesty, caring, principled, fair, balanced, world-class, established, and proactive
Professor Hinson stressed the importance of embedding ethics into strategic planning, ensuring that organisational purpose aligns with ethical principles.
He encouraged the Jospong Group of Companies (JCG) to prioritize ethical leadership, recognizing its significance in driving responsible business practices and fostering a positive organisational culture.
