The maiden edition of the CNC Youth Canvas came on 19th September, 2025, where La PRESEC Senior High School emerged champions of the maiden edition of the arts competition in Greater Accra between senior high schools (SHS).
The Youth Canvas was organised by Centre for National Culture (CNC), in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), and the Ghana Association of Visual Artists (GAVA) which focused on promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The thematic areas of the SDGs for the Youth Canvas were Goals 1 and 4 which addresses No Poverty and Quality Education respectively. The participants were urged to use art as a tool for advocacy, awareness, and change.
11 Senior High Schools took part in the maiden edition of the Youth Canvas and there were two categories for each school to compete in: Still life drawing and Figurative Painting. The display of creativity, innovation, and amazing storytelling by students was beautiful to see.
