Mr. Iddrisu Musah aka Musah Superior

President John Dramani Mahama has been called out to make public statement on the illegal raiding of the residence of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, by some state security officials last week.

Mr. Musah Iddrisu Superior, a stalwart of the New Patriotic Party who made the call in statement said President Mahama has failed to live up to his constitutional obligation to protect a citizen of the Republic of Ghana.

He said the President must make a public statement on this matter and cause an immediate investigation into this impunity and pronouncedly seek the arrest of all the persons involved and make them face the law but not stay aloof, stressing this is how a country is “reset”.

The former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission noted that the Rambo-like raid of the private home of the former Minister in a liberal democratic dispensation makes nonsense of constitutional governance and undermines the peace of the state!

“Nearly one week after the residence of the former Finance Minister, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori Atta has been raided illegally by some military and police personnel, we are still not told who instructed or was behind this utterly odious invasion. The President is pretentiously silent on the matter. The military high command doesn’t care! Defence Minister, Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector General of Police are absolutely indifferent.”

“Clearly, President Mahama has lost it. He has failed to protect a citizen as enshrined in the constitution of the Republic Ghana. This Rambo-like raid in a liberal democratic dispensation makes nonsense of constitutional governance and undermines the peace of the state” he stated.

Musah Superior as he is affectionately known further questioned whether the country was back to the dark days of military brutalities and attacks on the nation’s democracy.

“What is happening to our country? Has the dark days of military brutality and attacks on our democracy returned?

“Is the nation being reset to wallow in a dictatorship, fear and anarchy” he queried.

The outspoken former Mayor of Tamale didn’t also mince words to criticize the civil society organizations in the country, stating the defeaning silence of the CSO community on this particular raid is troubling.

“l challenge the CDD, IMANI, etc to demonstrate the zeal they showed in their advocacy against “bad” governance during the eight year administration of the immediate past government. Your work is not completed after the NDC won power. Ghanaians will not allow you to operate unchecked. Your credibility, integrity and impartiality will be interrogated for the next four years.
