A chilling incident unfolded at a local birthday celebration on Thursday evening, July 17, 2025, when a man, identified as Enoch, affectionately known as ‘Obinna,’ died under suspicious circumstances shortly after consuming food and beverages served at the party.
According to Adom News, Enoch began experiencing acute stomach pains soon after the event. Initially attributing his discomfort to the variety of drinks he sampled, his condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting friends, including an immigration officer present at the party, to rush him to the Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital in the Bono Region.
Medical staff diagnosed “suspected poisoning,” and he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
In response, the Bono Regional Police have detained six individuals who were at the party to support their ongoing investigation into the tragic incident.
The bereaved family is calling for a swift, comprehensive, and transparent investigation. They insist justice must be served and urge the police to examine all circumstances relating to his death thoroughly.
News of Enoch’s death has left the local community shaken. There are growing calls for greater caution during social gatherings and stronger food safety protocols to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Authorities are questioning the six suspects and collecting forensic evidence to determine the cause of the poisoning.
A post-mortem examination is expected to provide crucial insight into the substance involved.
