Antoine Semenyo has urged his Manchester City teammates to stay focused and win their remaining matches in the 2025/26 Premier League season as they push to keep their title hopes alive.
The Ghana international joined City during the January transfer window from AFC Bournemouth and has quickly become an influential figure in the squad. His versatility and work rate have added a new dimension to Pep Guardiola’s attacking options at a crucial stage of the campaign.
On Saturday, Semenyo delivered once again, scoring the decisive goal in City’s narrow victory over Leeds United at Elland Road. The hard-fought win ensured City remain firmly in the title race, sitting just two points behind leaders Arsenal.
Speaking after the Week 28 encounter, Semenyo described the strike as one of the most significant of his career so far.
However, he stressed that the focus must quickly shift to the challenges ahead.
“Definitely one of my most important goals for City,” he said. “Every game is important. I’m happy for the win, but there are still a lot of games to go, so we just need to keep going. All we can do is win our games.”
The Black Stars forward admitted the step up has been demanding but fulfilling. “You dream of playing at this level. It’s tough, but I’m embracing it. It’s pretty different — I’m usually a wide man — but I’m adapting and doing whatever I can for the team.”
Semenyo now boasts 14 goals and four assists in 27 league appearances this season, underlining his growing importance in City’s title pursuit.
