Dancehall-reggae star Livingstone Etse Setekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has come to the defense of American rapper Meek Mill for shooting a music video at the Jubilee House recently.
Stonebwoy believes there was nothing wrong with what happened and that it was the responsibility of the security protocol of the Jubilee House to avoid such things.
“Because that for me I think it was the job of the security personnel and the protocol to make sure that you don’t film over here, you don’t do this and that” Stonebwoy said.
Meek Mill was in Ghana during the Christmas holidays and he performed at the Afro Nation Concert at the Black Star Square. He got the chance to meet with the President at the Jubilee House through the President’s Daughter. His team made a video of the visit to the Jubilee House and posted same on social media.
The rapper was forced to take down the video after social media users descended heavily on the content. This forced statements from the Presidency for the content to be taken down. Such was done and Meek Mill apologised accordingly.
The Ghanaian star who was interviewed on the Breakfast Club show hinted that there was way Meek Mill could have done such if there was no room for his to do so.
‘I couldn’t come to the States and go to the Whitehouse and do whatever I want to do, except there was a certain amount of leeway”
For him, the American rapper only did that out of excitement and nothing else, “I don’t think it’s a big deal and you know the internet went crazy and he did the best thing he had to do. He is excited, he doesn’t know the laws. I believe, he only tried to get the best of his trip. And coming out to apologise just shows you his true intentions”
Stonebwoy was in Jamaica for the Rebel Salute Show before moving for a visit. He was only asked to share his thoughts on the Meek Mills’ travel to Ghana and how he engaged with the youths.
