Chairman Mohammed Baantima Samba, the Northern Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has presented a cash amount of GHS720, 000 to executives of the party across the eighteen (18) constituencies in the northern region.
Each of the 18 constituencies is expected to receive a total amount of GHS40, 000 to enable them efficiently and effectively conduct party activities in their respective localities.
According to Chairman Samba who is also known as Chairman Pre-finance among many other accolades, the donation is his personal support to empower the party structures in the region towards breaking the 8-year governance cycle in Ghana.
The presentation was made yesterday Tuesday (5th October, 2021) at Nyankpala in the Tolon constituency during the second session of the NPP 2021 Annual Regional Delegates Conference in the northern region.
In his welcome address, Chairman Samba said the spectacular performance of the NPP Regional Executives together with its constituency party executives and the various polling station executives enabled the party recapture political power for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
However, he indicated peace and unity is paramount if the party would break the 8 in the 2024 general elections.
“My brothers and Sisters, I will never give my constituency executives paper awards – I am going to award you with happiness. What we should do to prepare the grounds to break the 8 years so that we can win the Sagnarigu constituency, Tamale North constituency, Savelugu constituency, Tamale Central, Kumbungu constituency and many others”
He continued, “I want to prepare your minds to go back home and know that your solid Regional Chairman is behind you. You have delivered and you’re the same people I will take to war to win the 2024 elections, so that we can break the 8.”
Meanwhile, in accordance with the Covid-19 safety protocols the New Patriotic Party held the Annual Regional Delegates Conference at two separate venues.
The first session was organized in the Yendi constituency earlier Tuesday morning for nine constituencies within the eastern corridor enclave.
The other nine constituencies later in the day had their conference at Nyankpala in the Tolon constituency.
The General Secretary of the party, Mr John Boadu, National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), National Treasurer, First and Second Vice Chairpersons, former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyako were among other dignitaries present at the conference.
Former Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed, former Minister for Zongo and Inner Cities Development, Boniface Abubakari Sadik, former National Nasara Coordinator of the party, Abdulai Kamaldeen, Youth Organiser Aspirant, Mr Salam Mustapha among other bigwigs of the party all participated in the day’s conference.
