The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has once again apologized to its clients in Tamale and other areas in the northern region over the erratic power supply in recent weeks.
However, management of the power distribution company has assured the supply of regular power in the metropolis is in the offing due to the significant progress made to rectify the problem.
The Corporate Communication and Customer Service Manager of NEDCo, Maxwell Kotoka in a statement copied to THE CUSTODIAN, announced that power has been restored to feeder 2 and feeder 3 on Wednesday and Tuesday respectively.
He indicated however that the technical team is still monitoring the power situation on Feeder 6 which affects areas such UDS-Dungu campus, Japan Motors, Kakpagyili, Lamashegu, Kumasi road etc and would necessarily off the grid when the need arises.
“All things being equal, power should be restored to this feeder later in the night or earlier tomorrow (Thursday, 6 May, 2021) depending on the dynamics of the load situation.
As explained earlier, this arrangement continues until further notice when the challenge at the Adubili-yili 330Kv substation is fully overcome” he stated.
Meanwhile, NEDCo had earlier announced its intention to release a load-shedding timetable in the capital of the northern region as a result of a malfunctioned underground cable and the technical hitches at Adubili-yili substation.
However, Maxwell Kotoka in the statement indicated, “Further to our earlier announcement on the temporary need for the regulation and management of electricity demand/load, the Management of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) wishes to inform the general public especially, its cherished customers in the Tamale metropolis that power was restored to Feeder 3 on Tuesday.”
