President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said he would not bow down to calls for a reshuffle of his ministers especially those emanating from the opposition National Democratic Congress.
“The issue of reshuffling or performance of my ministers is a daily preoccupation; I’m required on a daily basis to ask myself whether a particular minister is up to the mark.
“I am the final authority and if they are not up to the mark, I’m required to act. But if the output measures the expectations then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed to the calls for reshuffling,” Nana Akufo-Addo affirmed.
Speaking exclusively on Tamale based North Star Radio with Host, Mohammed Gadafi, on Monday (August 8, 2022), Nana Akufo-Addo said, “Several of the people who assisted me to steer the country out of the difficulties that we inherited are still in place, and many of them for me, have done an outstanding work – their output has been considerable and that’s what I look at.”
“The calls come with all kinds of reasons; the NDC wanting to destabilize your government – there are people who are also looking for jobs. I’m disputing that there’s quite a lot of attention but I also think it’s important for us to have a holistic look at this matter and be certain with what we’re doing” he added.
Many Ghanaians including some members of the governing New Patriotic Party have made numerous calls on the President to reshuffle his ministers most especially the Minister for Finance, whom, the crusaders have blamed the economic performance of the government.
President Nana Akufo-Addo is yet to do any major shakeup of his administration since he assumed power on January 7, 2017.
