The Ghana Police Service has arrested NPP Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, on charges of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 8, 2025, the Police confirmed that the outspoken Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was taken into custody earlier in the day and is currently being held.
“He is currently in custody and will be put before Court,” the statement said.
Although the Police did not provide details of the specific behaviour that triggered the arrest, the move comes at a time when Abronye attracted widespread public attention for his controversial comments in the media and on televised broadcasts.
The arrested NPP Regional Chairman, Abronye is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.
