The Ministry of Health has successfully concluded negotiations on the payment of salary arrears owed to nurses and midwives posted in the 2024/2025 service year.
After extensive engagements with the Ministry of Finance, approval has been granted for the outstanding arrears to be settled in four instalments spanning April to July.

The structured payment plan reflects the government’s commitment to clearing all outstanding obligations in a timely and responsible manner while ensuring fiscal stability.
The Ministry of Health commended the affected nurses and midwives for their patience, dedication, and unwavering service to the nation despite the delays in payment. It acknowledged the critical role they continue to play in delivering quality healthcare services across the country.
The Ministry also expressed sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Finance for the priority and urgency attached to resolving the matter.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare, motivation, and improved working conditions of all health workers nationwide, emphasising that their contributions remain vital to the strength and resilience of Ghana’s healthcare system.
