The Ghana Police Service has successfully rescued a kidnapped victim at Wapuli in the Yendi Division of the Northern Region.
According to police, the case was reported on December 2, 2025, at about 9,30 a.m. to the Regional Police Intelligence Department (RPID) in Tamale.
The kidnappers demanded GH¢100,000 as ransom.
Following the report, DCOP Wisdom Lavoe ordered the deployment of a five-member intelligence team to Wapuli. The victim was rescued on December 5, 2025.

Police later exchanged gunfire with the suspects in the early hours of December 6, causing them to flee and abandon a motorbike and a Samsung mobile phone.
Hours later, three suspects were arrested at Bokpaba.
The Police retrieved two motorbikes and GH¢70,000, believed to be part of the ransom payment. One suspect escaped and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
