Just hours after the announced removal of Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, social media platform X, formerly know as Twitter, has her name already taking over the trending charts.
The social media platform is buzzing with memes and sentiments. While others are excited, others are expressing their disapproval.
Justice Gertrude Trokornoo was removed from office after a Committee of Inquiry set by President John Dramani Mahama recommended her removal.
“After critical and dispassionate examination and assessment of all the evidence, including expert submissions, against the provisions of the Constitution and the relevant laws, we have, without fear or favour, arrived at a recommendation on the first petition,” Justice Pwamang said before handing the sealed report to the President.
The Committee, chaired by Justice Gabriel Scott Pwamang, also granted a joint request from the second petitioner and the Chief Justice to adjourn the next inquiry.

The removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo is nothing short of a judicial coup. A democracy collapses not when guns are drawn, but when the independence of the courts is strangled by politics.
This shameful act sets a dangerous precedent, today it’s Torkornoo, tomorrow no…
