Member of Parliament Sam Nartey George has kicked off the New Year with a message that surprised many, and amused plenty more by choosing one simple word to define his resolution: ‘peace’.
In a New Year post, the outspoken legislator announced that this year, he is opting for calm over confrontation, serenity over stress, and peace “in the field and peace at home.”
“This year, I choose PEACE,” he declared, making it clear that the season of what he jokingly referred to as “vawulence” has been put firmly on pause.
According to Sam George, his peace is not selective. It covers everything that concerns him: his work, his home, his personal life, and even his walls. He described it as “the peace that passes all understanding,” adding a spiritual tone.
Looking ahead to 2026, the MP struck an optimistic and faith-filled note, saying he believes God will turn every plan meant for evil into good. He said he intends to “hold his peace,” watch events unfold, and allow divine justice to take centre stage.
“He alone will set a table before me in the presence of those who scheme in the dark,” he said, adding that confusing the counsel of such people is not his job but God’s.
The message ended on a warm and inclusive note, as Sam George wished peace upon everyone; supporters, critics, and observers alike signing off with a simple but powerful greeting: “Shalom!”.
Whether taken as spiritual reflection, political maturity, or just a refreshing New Year mood, one thing is clear: for Sam Nartey George, the year has started on a calm note – and he wants everyone to know it.
This year, I choose PEACE!
Peace over vawulence. Peace in everything that concerns me. I am at Peace with myself. The Peace that passes all understanding. Peace in the field and Peace at home. Peace within my walls.
