The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Tamale South Parliamentary Candidate, Hon Yakubu Yussif today Thursday, 9 April, 2020, cut sod for the construction of three unit classroom block together with four seater KVIP toilet and Urinal at Vittin Answarinya basic school.

The project is among 17 other infrastructure projects the MP hopeful is collaborating with the Northern Development Authority (NDA) to undertake in the constituency.

The NDA in 2017 conducted needs assessment of communities in the various constituencies in the northern ecological zone under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program (IPEP) for the execution of the one million dollars per constituency promise made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo prior to the 2016 general elections.

Mr. Yakubu Yussif in an interview with the media assured residents of the Tamale South Constituency that, he will continue to liaise with government agencies to bring more development to the doorsteps of the people.

He said the provision of these projects will ameliorate the suffering of the people and improve education, health and economic growth in the constituency.

“We are doing our best to bring whatever development we can get to our people, this is just the beginning of good things to come” he added.

The 17 projects in the Tamale South constituency include roads construction, fence wall at Katariga cemetery, CHPS compound, rural electrification and school blocks among others.
According to Mr. Yussif, the impact of these projects cannot be overemphasized and would make the livelihood of the people better.

However, he urged the Chief and people of the community to give President Nana Akufo-Addo another four year mandate and vote him to become Member of Parliament so as to realize the needed development to alleviate the suffering of the people.

The Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs and International Relations at the Northern Development Authority, Alhaji Mustapha Baba Mubashir said the contractor; HAZBUK Company Limited is expected to complete the project within three to six months.

He noted the contractor must work within the stipulated timelines given in the contract documents or risk losing the project.

Through the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program, the NPP government has already implemented the one village one dam initiative in the north, procured about three hundred Ambulances for the 275 constituencies in Ghana and other health facilities.
