One of Ghana’s leading transport operators, VIP Jeoun Transport Company, has announced an increase in fares across its nationwide routes, effective Tuesday, April 8.
The company explained that the adjustment follows a review of rising operational costs, including fuel prices, vehicle maintenance, and spare parts, which have placed considerable pressure on transport operators in recent months. Management noted that the new fares are necessary to sustain operations and maintain service quality for passengers.
Under the revised structure, passengers on standard services will now pay GH¢120 from Accra to Kumasi, GH¢170 to Sunyani, and GH¢290 to Tamale, among other routes. Fares to northern destinations such as Bolgatanga and Wa have been set at GH¢330 and GH¢320, respectively.
Executive coach fares have also been adjusted upward, with Accra to Kumasi now GH¢150, Sunyani GH¢200, and Tamale GH¢360. Longer routes, including Accra to Navrongo and Bawku, will cost GH¢420 and GH¢430, respectively.

In addition, intercity fares from Kumasi have been revised, with Kumasi to Tamale now GH¢210 and Kumasi to Bolgatanga GH¢250.
VIP Jeoun Transport Company stated that the new fare structure has been approved by management and applies across all its operational routes.
Passengers are expected to feel the impact immediately, with some commuters expressing concern over the increased financial burden. Others, however, acknowledge the challenges faced by transport operators, noting that fare adjustments have become inevitable amid rising fuel costs.
Commuters are advised to confirm updated fares at terminals before travelling to avoid any inconvenience.
