Lawyer Samson Lardy Anyenini, the Counsel for Dr Kabiru Tia Mahama, the first defendant in the ongoing Walewale NPP parliamentary primary suit confirmed in open Court on Wednesday (14th August, 2024) that he had recused himself earlier from the case due to differences with the latter.

Mr. Anyenini did not give further details about the matter, but announced however in court that the issue was resolved just this weekend.

“My earlier application to recuse myself was as a result of a Counsel and client differences but the matter was resolved just this weekend my Lord” he stated.

The ace broadcast Journalist is the second Lawyer to represent the embattled NPP Parliamentary aspirant in the ongoing litigation after Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, the Director for Legal Affairs of the NPP as well as the party at the beginning of the litigation filed by the plaintiff, Hajia Lariba Zuwera Abudu.

Dr KB Mahama has not been to court for sometime now and was never also represented by any Counsel in court during the period until yesterday.

But Court proceedings continued unabated as the Lawyer of the plaintiff; Sylvester Isang Esq was always present in court to prosecute their case.

Samson Lardy Anyenini during a media interview after the day’s proceedings also declined to comment on the issues that made him earlier withdraw his legal service.

Meanwhile, the presiding Judge, His Lordship, Justice Richard Kogyapwa gave an order for the first defendant to file his responses to an earlier process served on him last week as well as his witness statements before close of Friday, August 16, ahead of case management conference and commencement of full trial on Monday, August 19, 2024.
