The Tamale High Court presided over by Justice Richard Kogyapwah, is expected today Monday (September 2, 2024) to give judgment in the Walewale New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primary lawsuit.

Last week, the Judge directed lawyers of the plaintiff, Hajia Lariba Zuwera Abudu and first defendant, Dr Kabiru Tia Mahama to submit their final written addresses to the court by close Friday, August 30, 2024.

Both plaintiff and first defendant during the trial which commenced a fortnight ago presented their witnesses in court for cross examination including the Director of Electoral Commission in Walewale.

Subsequently, the court also subpoenaed the NPP North East Regional Chairman among other individuals to give testimonies relative to their involvement in the January 27, 2024, parliamentary primary in the Walewale constituency.

Meanwhile, the court had previously granted a plea by the NPP to resolve the issues related to the Walewale Constituency parliamentary primary out of court.

However, the out-of-court was unsuccessful resulting in the continuation of the case at the Tamale High Court.
