The Paramount Chief of Savelugu, Yoo Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the numerous developmental projects implemented under his government in the Savelugu municipality such as the Savelugu Rice Processing Factory under the flagship One District One Factory initiative, Savelugu Digital Solutions Center and Agenda 111 hospital.
“I want to express my utmost gratitude for the good works that have come to Savelugu since I arrived about five years ago. There were no town roads in Savelugu, only a few but today many roads have been constructed to the villages and we’re grateful.
“Savelugu never had National Health Insurance office but through the kindness of Hajia Fatahiya Abdul Aziz, we now have a befitting Health Insurance office in Savelugu. Again, Savelugu never had a Community Center though many other communities but Savelugu never had one and when I told Hajia Fatahiya she promised to do it and she has fulfilled the promise by constructing a multipurpose Community Center for us” the chief enumerated.
The Yoo Naa made these remarks when President Nana Akufo-Addo visited his palace on Tuesday (October 15, 2024) as part of a day’s working tour of the Northern Region to bid farewell to chiefs and people as his tenure comes to an end on January 7, 2025.
The Savelugu Chief said the Akufo-Addo administration has done tremendously well for Savelugu and the nation at large and was also swift to acknowledge that the government cannot do everything.
“Every part of the country has its peculiar developmental aspirations and challenges likewise our households, the challenges are numerous but he has done his part for the nation” Naa Yakubu Andani emphasized.
Meanwhile, Nana Akufo-Addo in his address thanked the Yoo Naa for giving him and the New Patriotic Party led government his maximum support since 2017.
“I have been blessed by the people to have the opportunity to serve Ghana as President twice. Only President Rawlings and my own Boss President Agyekum Kufour, and myself have had the privilege. So as I come to the end of my tenure, I’m saying goodbye to all the people who have supported and encouraged me in my office as President” he stated.
