The Ghana Health Service has confirmed eleven new cases of the coronavirus disease in Ghana, making the total confirmed cases in the West African country one hundred and fifty two (152) as at 12:05GMT on Sunday, 29 March, 2020.
Out of the eleven new cases recorded, ten of the patients are illegal migrants from Guinea who were reportedly arrested following an intelligence gathered by the Northern Regional Security Council.
However, they were kept under mandatory quarantine as directed by the government of Ghana. The Guinean nationals travelled through neighboring Burkina Faso and Togo. Meanwhile, the eleventh case was recorded in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
This makes the northern region the fourth region to confirm the COVID-19 disease within its jurisdiction after Greater Accra, Ashanti and the Upper West regions.
