Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the northern region, Mr. Baantima Mohammed Samba on Thursday registered for the electoral commission (EC) voter’s ID card at the Kanvili Nuria Primary School polling station to vote in December 7 general elections at the Tamale North constituency.
The NPP Regional Chairman used the opportunity to interact with officials of the Electoral Commission and applicants who were present at the centre pertaining to the conduct of the second phase of the ongoing registration exercise.
He commended the EC officers for exhibiting high sense of professionalism in the discharge of their constitutional mandated responsibility.
He urged the elections management body to uphold its integrity and not succumb to the caprices of any political party executives or agents.
Chairman Do All as he is affectionately called by the core base of the NPP donated nose masks, hand gloves and sanitizers to the EC officers to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Similarly, he distributed hundreds of the personal protection equipment to applicants who were present at the registration centre and other centres he monitored the exercise.
He sensitized the people on the importance of wearing the facemask, observing the physical and social distancing protocol among the other precautionary measures outlined by government and healthcare workers of Ghana.
He commended the prospective voters for turning out massively to register and further encouraged the youth particularly first time voters who turned 18years to get the voter ID in order to discharge their civic responsibility by voting who becomes president of Ghana and Members of Parliament at their respective constituencies.
