The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended former Deputy General Secretary of the party, Koku Anyidoho, for allegedly breaching the party’s disciplinary code as contained in the party’s Constitution.
A letter signed by the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and addressed to Mr Anyidoho indicated that the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC received and considered two separate petitions that registered members lodged against him.
He stated that the decision was taken at the end of its deliberations in accordance with Articles 46 (1), 46(6), and 46 (8) of the NDC Constitution.
The petitions, he said, have subsequently been referred to the Party’s disciplinary committee for further action.
“You are, therefore, by this letter to take note, and notice is hereby given, that your membership of the NDC is suspended pending the hearing and final determination of the petitions against your conduct.
“Please find attached your copy of a Separate letter of referral to the Disciplinary Committee and copies of the petitions.
“It is our hope that you will co-operate with the Disciplinary Committee for an expeditious determination of this case,” the letter said.
Many allegations have been made against Mr Anyidoho for allegedly working against NDC’s 2020 general election and former president, Mr John Dramani Mahama.
Consequently, there have rumours that some party gurus were plotting to oust him from the party.
