Sinister plots to smear the Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah ahead of his vetting for appointment as a Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development have been exposed.
An assemblage of phoney petitions containing fabricated lies against the deputy ministerial nominee have suddenly started popping up at high places just when he is about to appear before the Appointments Committee of Parliament June 11, 2021 for vetting.
The petitioners without providing any shred of evidence, are asking Parliament not to approve the nomination of Adjei Mensah Korsah.
They claimed the nominee was using unfair means to forcefully take over some parcels of land from them.
Several radio show hosts and newspaper editors have received copies of the said petitions and investigations from official sources have proven the accusations therein are fabrications and dirty lies.
In fact, the nominee has completely denied knowledge of having any interest whatsoever in the said parcel of land and expressed shock at the courage with which his accusers have embarked on the agenda against him.
He suspects that this is politically motivated and is urging all to treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Lawyers for Mr. Adjei-Mensah Korsah have officially stated on record that the MP does not even know where the supposed Accra land is located.
They added that the MP does not know the petitioners, neither has he ever had any form of confrontation or misunderstanding with them.
The statement maintained that the MP is not involved in any form of land litigation with anyone in Accra.
Mr. Adjei Mensah Korsah has asked the said petitioners to disclose the full identity of the supposed person who is using unfair means to take their lands and add the necessary particulars that can be used in investigating their challenges to find a solution.
The Mankralo of La Nii Obodai who gave out the said land denies any dealings with the Deputy Minister designate, but rather reveals he sold it to Mr. Paul Ofori who actually owns and is developing the land.
A search at the Lands Commission further confirmed the Mankralo’s claim as his name still remains on the records as owner of the land.
Diabolic plot
The diabolic plot against Adjei Mensah Korsah is not new as it has become the trend for opponents of nominees about to face the Appointments Committee to come out with all manner of petitions and allegations.
These are ostensibly meant to cause public disaffection or create a false impression that the said nominee was involved in some unlawful conduct that should be used in disapproving their nomination.
Media Attacks
The petitioners have resorted to a full-blown media trial against the MP and a one-sided narrative, whipping up public sentiments.
It is curious that the petitioners will not go to the law courts or the law enforcement agencies to defend their supposed land, if indeed it was being wrongly taken over by the nominee.
The said petitions have found their way into the newsrooms of media houses and being circulated widely with some of the media houses running the stories, that the MP was using his office to take over a land that does not belong to him, without contacting the MP for his side of the story.
Some members of the Appointments Committee have been served with different renditions of the said petitions.
Meanwhile, the issue of the said ‘ghost lands’ and the petitions from the unknown accusers continue to go viral and causing public disaffection against the Techiman South MP.
His lawyers have filed suits to serve on the ghost petitioners because the accusations are both defamatory and actionable but cannot trace them to be served.
They have indicated that all legitimate options in defending the reputation of the falsely accused MP is being considered.
