The Minister for Information, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has presented Public Address (PA) System to Ya Naa Abukari II, Overlord of Dagbon. The donation is in fulfillment of a promise made to the Chief during the Minister’s working tour of the northern region earlier this year.
The Director of Finance and Administration at the Information Ministry, Madam Patricia Dovi-Sampson on behalf of the Minister presented the PA system to the Dagbon King at the Gbewa Palace on Wednesday.
In her address, Madam Patricia indicated the gesture is to redeem the pledge made by the MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi to the Ya Naa.
She therefore expressed gratitude to Ya Naa for the overwhelming reception and prayed for his reign to be magnified.
The PA system comprised of two speakers, a wireless combo system, and control devices amongst other vital equipment for high quality sound transmission.
It would enable the palace in information dissemination especially during high profile public gathering at the palace.
For his part, Ya Naa Abukari II through the Public Relations Officer of the palace thanked the Minister for Information for redeeming his pledge. He said the provision of the PA system will make information dissemination at the palace very efficient and effective.
“His Royal Majesty wants you to send his warmest greetings to the Minister – that he and his subjects will never forget him. In fact, the Minister is part of Dagbon kingdom and we’re hoping and looking forward to see more of this gesture in future” he added.
