The late Hajia Mariama Bawumia, mother of Vice President of Ghana is age 82 today after her passing to eternity in the national capital, Accra, Monday (13 September, 2021).
The spouse of the late Mumuni Bawumia was born on 15 September, 1939.
Hajia Mariama was laid to rest yesterday Tuesday (14 September, 2021) close to the tomb of her late husband in their family house at Kperiga, suburb of Walewale in the West Mamprusi municipality in the North East.
The Vice President paid his last respect to the mother before the National Chief Imam; Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu led a powerful congregation to observe an Islamic prayer (Janaza) before her interment.
Hundreds of mourners across the country stormed Walewale to commiserate with the bereaved family.
Leading members of the governing New Patriotic Party and the opposition National Democratic Congress, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, former Ministers of State, MMDCEs, and CEOs of State Institutions among other high profile dignitaries were present to witness the burial ceremony.
