He said the residents of Tamale and other parts of the region would attest to the fact that so many road networks are being constructed in the metropolis and they are very grateful for that.
Alhaji Shani today Thursday (January 6, 2022) accompanied the sector Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, to inspect some ongoing road works in Tamale as well as other completed projects in the city.
The team inspected the progress of work at the Tamale interchange, ongoing inner roads at Fuo and the recently completed Tamale industrial area road connecting the Kumasi highway.
The Roads and Highways Minister told Journalists the government is doing over 100 kilometers of asphalt roads within the area.
Mr. Kwasi Amoako-Attah who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Atiwa West further urged the populace and his colleague MPs from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to support the passage of the electronic transaction levy to enable the government raised enough revenue to develop the nation.
“So the people of this country, the people of Tamale and all MPs in Tamale must support the passage of the E-levy bill for more to be done for them and their constituents” he implored.
However, the outspoken Kwasi Amoako-Attah seized the opportunity to advised potential developers in the country to always crosscheck from the Ghana Highways Authority and other agencies of his ministry before setting up their projects along the major highways.
Knowing what is likely to happen, the Minister said most of these structures would affected if contractors go on site to start work.
“So I want to advise that at this stage all potential developers should be proactive and crosscheck with my ministry before they site their properties or projects because they can be sure of one thing – if they don’t and we get to them, the development will be so quick, so brisk, because of what we want to achieve, that, there would be no time to waste and they can be sure that all such projects no matter the stage it reached, even if it is completed, would be demolished” he warned
He continued, “Any project that stands on the way of national interest, that project will give way to national goal. So I want to advise the people that they should crosscheck with the ministry particularly those siting projects on all the highways, because President Akufo-Addo government is embarking, from this month, on massive dualisation of all major highways, trunk roads of our country”.
