Abdulai Nurudeen, a teacher by profession aspiring to become the Assistant Secretary of the New Patriotic Party in the Tamale North Constituency has plans to institute conflict resolution mechanisms to address the usual post-election crisis in the constituency.
The NPP has always suffered post-election especially parliamentary primaries causing disunity in the rank and file of the party and crumbling efforts towards the ensuing general elections in the past.
In this regard, the deputy Secretary aspirant promised to work assiduously with other executives to uphold the unity the party in the run up to the 2024 general election and capture the seat from the National Democratic Congress.
“I will also ensure that there is transparency in the discharge of my duties. When given the nod, I will make sure that opportunities or funds that meant for polling station executives are dully delivered to them” he assured.
He will go into Thursday’s polls (April 28, 2022) unopposed as the incumbent is not seeking reelection and none other has also contested for the position.
In an exclusive interview, Mr. Nurudeen told THE CUSTODIAN he will collaborate with the Secretary who is his immediate superior to institute an awards scheme to acknowledge the hard work of polling station officers of the party.
He maintained this would motivate them to put up their best towards the victory of the NPP in 2024.
“I will ensure that at the end of the tenure of the polling station executives, each of them will receive a citation in recognition and appreciation of their diligent efforts and contributions in the party” he emphasized.
The NPP Assistant Secretary candidate is a degree holder in Education Psychology from the University of Cape Coast. He also had his diploma in Management Studies from the Institute of Commercial Management in the United Kingdom and a former teacher trainee from the Gambaga College of Education.
