The Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party in the Yendi Constituency has initiated steps to swiftly reconcile aggrieved members of the party prior to yesterday’s Annual Delegates Conference.
Chairman of the Council of Elders, Alhaji Sayibu Sulemana, in his address during the conference on Sunday, May 1, 2022, commended the electorates and all stakeholders for the peaceful and successful conduct of the conference that lead to the election of new constituency executives.
“We are all gathered here in the interest of the NPP. The campaigns are over but some people within the party were aggrieved and we have to bring them around in our collective interest and as the interest of the party is paramount.”
The Council of Elders Chairman cautioned the winners to be modest in their celebration since there are no winners and vanquish in the aftermath of the polls, adding, it is the NPP that has won at the end of the day.
“Whoever won should know that the NPP has won and those who lost should know the NPP has lost and they should not relent on their efforts as they still have the opportunity to comeback to win subsequent elections. People should forgive one another because we’re in the month of Ramadan” he admonished.
“We must embrace each other and forge ahead united and peaceful for victory in the 2024 general elections” he advised.
