The Paramount Chief of Navrongo Traditional Area, PE Asagpare Ayiakwoa Balinia Adda II, has lauded the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his continuous good relationship with the people of Navrongo and the north, as well as his contributions to the development of the nation at large.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia to Navrongo on Wednesday during a visit to the Navro Pio’s Palace, the Navro Pio, in a speech read by his secretary, expressed the appreciation of his people to the Vice President for his personal commitment to their welfare and development, and his work as Vice President.
While commending the Akufo-Addo government for its development initiatives, the Navro Pio highlighted instances Dr. Bawumia showed personal commitment to their welfare and swiftly responded to pleas made to him.
“Your Excellency, the contributions you have put in personally towards the development of the north and indeed Ghana as a whole cannot be overlooked,” the Navro Pio said.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank you, His Excellency, for some of the things that you personally saw through as far as Navrongo is concerned.
“The promptness with which you tackled the ambulance hearse situation for the Islamic Community in Navrongo was so spectacular, and the whole of Navrongo appreciates that. Thank you so much.
“In a similar vein, the in-campus roads infrastructure of the Navrongo Senior High School was also a personal promise you made when you attended the 60th Anniversary Celebrations of the school. The project started quickly and was going on steadily until the demise of our son, Lessen, who was contracted to execute the job. We hope we can still count on you for the continuation of this project, which is very dear to the school in particular and Navrongo as a whole.”
As he lauded the exemplary relationship-building traits of Dr. Bawumia and thanked him for the visit, the Navro Pio urged other politicians to emulate and also see traditional authorities as development partners.
“May I use the occasion to encourage all politicians to continue to show recognition to all traditional stools, skins or any other, without regard to the person exercising such authorities. Let us all be minded that we need each other in the development of our country.”
Dr. Bawumia, who has been on a working tour of the Northern part of the country this week, thanked the Navro Pio and his people for the warm reception and encouragement.
