The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, has said the governing will defend Ghanaians and the sanctity of the country’s democracy before, during and after the 2024 general elections.
“I hear one NDC Youth organizer said they will “Kill to win Power in 2024”. Well, we are not interested in such desperation and empty threats but to tell the NDC that Ghana’s democracy prescribes the rule of the thumb in winning political power and we in the NPP aren’t interested in people dying before we win political power.”
The comments of the NPP Deputy Chief Scribe were in reaction to the Suame Constituency Youth Organizer, Razak Koampa Avoliya, who is captured in viral video making disparaging remarks to effect that the party will kill to win the 2024 general elections.
“My experience in politics has taught me that we (NDC) cannot win an election against the NPP and Akufo-Addo on paper, we can only win through violence and you cannot have violence without casualties.”
“Together with the youth of Suame, we have taken a decision to visit mayhem on all NPP members of because it is the only way we can survive in the political space in the country” the Youth Organizer added.
However, in his reply, the outspoken NPP Deputy General Secretary stated the soft nature of the NPP in the past has emboldened some of these Riff-raffs in the NDC to believe that they can misbehave and go away as usual.
Prof Haruna Mohammed as he is popularly known stated the current leadership is very much ready for the opposition party, adding, “If their youth wants to die for power they are free to die whiles we defend the sanctity of our democracy and the people of Ghana and the NPP Membership.”
“The NDC can continue to blow hot air but action they say speaks louder than words. We are ready they should bring it on” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, police in the Ashanti Region are on a manhunt for the NDC Youth Organizer for the unsavory remarks.
The police in a statement on their official Facebook page confirmed their attention has been drawn to a viral video in which a person who identifies himself as the Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress in the Suame Constituency of the Ashanti Region calls on supporters of the NDC to attack persons of the New Patriotic Party in the run-up to the 2024 general elections.
